Crib Bedding Sets - What Should You Choose?

Crib bedding sets are as different in variety as every baby and every pregnancy is different for every mother. Shopping for the nursery is oh so much fun. Knowing what bedding set you are going to have for your new bundle of joy will help you make other important decorating decisions.

First and for most for my new mothers as well as those experiencing the joy of a new baby for another time please remember "Safety Before Beauty". Yes we would all love to turn our little one's nursery into a unique and beautiful representation of our love for baby, however keeping in mind Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, they are newborns first.

It is not a good idea to allow babies to sleep with plush blankets or even some quilts right away. Light sheets that fit tightly around the edges of the mattress so that they will not slip off in the middle of the night and suffocate baby are needed.

Your babies bedding set should come with bumpers. The bumpers are plush like pillows and protect your babies limbs or head from getting stuck between the rails on the crib. Use caution when using those right away as well. Yes I know the bumpers bring out the ambiance of the crib along with the skirt that comes with the bedding. Just don't allow the beauty affect for guest allow you to make a lapse in judgement as far as safety is concerned where baby sleeps.

Now that your mind is focused mainly on safety let's discuss some of the different types of nursery bedding sets there are. The most popular fabric is cotton flannel and the most popular combination is cotton flannel plus satin.

The flannel is very good because it keeps baby nice and warm. The satin is good for babies skin and hair. There are also numerous other textures such as suede, chenille, and corduroy. Eco Friendly bedding is my absolute favorite. There's nothing better for your baby than all natural ingredients in the bedding you know is going to touch there sensitive skin. Hypo-allergenic plus there are no dyes used and no chemicals. All colors are added naturally.

While you are on the pursuit to find your babies perfect crib bedding set be sure to look into some of the places that offer you the option of designing your own. The only thing more personal than that would be making it yourself and since most of us do not have time for that this is definitely second best.
